How do I create a WoW Forever addon with AI?+
Describe what you want in ForeverMods. ChatGPT plans the addon, writes its Lua and TOC files, and checks the syntax. Test the result in the live preview, ask for changes, then download or install your addon.
Do I need to know Lua to build WoW addons?+
No Lua experience is needed to get started. Explain the behavior and appearance in plain language. You can inspect every source file and keep editing the addon with AI.
Can I preview a custom WoW Forever addon in my browser?+
Yes. The preview runs your actual Lua with wow-ui-sim. Try clicks, dragging, slash commands, and simulated game events. The simulator supports freeform layouts, but it does not reproduce every WoW API or live game condition. Always test the final addon in the game.
How do I install my WoW Forever addon?+
Choose Install to WoW and select your game folder in a supported desktop browser. ForeverMods writes the addon into Interface/AddOns with your permission. You can also download a ZIP and copy the addon folder there yourself, then enable it in the game.
Will existing Classic addons work in WoW Forever?+
Compatibility depends on the addon and the target client’s APIs. ForeverMods helps you create and iterate on addons for WoW Forever; it does not guarantee that an existing Classic or Retail addon will work unchanged. Review the generated compatibility notes and test in your current game build.
